Isaiah 52:10 “The Lord has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”
Hello from the Asia region of Nations . . . We thank you for your faithful prayers, zealous hearts, your support and encouraging words. We pray that you find great joy and reward in being part of the Lords work in this part of His Kingdom! We find our labours here amazingly satisfying and we can attest to His goodness and provision through your generosity. We are so thankful for friends who share a common faith in Christ, who share a passionate common vision and open their hearts to sharing the gospel and making disciples in Asia.
We are totally involved in encouraging and training indigenous leaders as front-line church planters who will take the Gospel to the unreached and plant churches through inter-cultural, near cultural and cross cultural evangelism. We diligently teach the Word of God and train them to boldly share their faith. Our native students are accepted readily and don’t represent a foreign country or strange religion. They are eagerly leaning how to serve the Lord more effectively, their genuine love for the lost is very evident and they take every opportunity to share the Gospel and pray for needs.
We have also been very involved with a lot of extra curricular busyness; Tom Shumacher the Dean of Students, was away up North on Visa business so I've was busy covering for him. We have had a Woman's Conference on here so we were running in circles for the ladies. Now we have Rich and Ning Conte from the Philippines here teaching "Church Planting" for the next two weeks and we have pastors and people here from all over Asia to take it in. Pastor Rich has a church of over 1500 members in Manilla and has planted 26 churches in the Philippines in the last few years. Then we have another leadership & music conference at the end of February, so we have lots of variety on our plate. Plus Donna's always baking for all these visitors and guests as well as doing their laundry etc. etc. As people come and go it means multiple trips to the airport, many times in the middle of the night or the wee hours of morning. We never did get a visa for Pakistan, it's likely sitting on some embassy desk somewhere. We're also in the middle of some overdue renovations in our College building and the dust takes it's toll on me. Can you envision me running around with a mask on? We've had some guys here from Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton dry-walling, tiling and painting. Some local guys are pouring cement and building stairs etc.
We have a lady from Pakistan staying with us in our home until about February 27th.
I still have to get crowns put on my implanted stumps on the 1st of March. What a long drawn out process and one side chewing. Last week I had a glass door shatter on me which required seven stitches in my fore arm.
We are scheduled to go to Burma about the 17th of March, to do some leadership training with Dr. Purvis. Our former student John, has recently baptized over 300 new converts and needs help with instructing many potential leaders. This is all to help meet the urgent need for leadership at the grass roots level in the rural as well as the urban centers, impacting Burma for Christ.
The harsh reality we are so conscious of, is that nearly 3 billion people of our generation are still unreached with the Gospel. We are privileged to help them hear about Jesus and have chosen to make a commitment to focus on these eternal values. A hundred years from now we’ll be glad we did!
May you continue to allow God to use you to help change the destiny of so many through your prayers and partnership.
Our love and prayers are with you, Thanks for everything! K&D
